It's The Same Old. Same Old Situa-a-a-tion.

Not a single day of my life passes by during which I don't listen to some for of recorded music. Granted, that is not a unique or groundbreaking statement, but as I was driving home just now I started thinking about how the music I choose to listen to, particularly when driving home in the evening, can capture, enhance, console and indulge any 'situation' I find my personal life in. At this very point in time I'm involved in a 'situation' and I tonight I found the perfect song companion for it (I won't tell you what song) and you know what? It made me feel better, even though it's not a particularly uplifting song or pleasent 'situation'.

Again, I would not be the only person on the planet who does this sort of thing, but it got me thinking....If I were to think back on all the good and bad emotional journeys of my life thus far, and make a list of the each seperate feeling and the subsequent song I chose to go with it, would it be a list you could give to just about anyone to help them?

If anyone has the time or inclination, please feel free to start such a list and send it to me, and I'll compile the ulitmate 'How To Survive The Rigours of Life' compilation CD. Seriously. We'll make a mint. What?? Some of us have got to live too you know. I told 'em they'd never make their money back. Bernie, I says....

Well he certainly was the weak link at the Crue show I witnessed. Plus for my money, he came across as the biggest dick in The Dirt, which is no mean feat. I felt sorry for Corabi after reading that review though.

In my heart - Moby.

I am a little peturbed that it's recently been on a NOKIA ad but as far as mobile ads go it was pretty well done.

I wish I could give everyone a copy of Zoar's 'Ashes Falling' so they could chill the fuck out or disintegrate more quietly. One of them.

What about a song for when the milk's bad and it's Good Friday and all shops are shut? Borrowing money off your parents? Discovering staying up to watch Rage just makes you feel old and that you wished you were into jazz. Oh, oh, an instrumental piece for finding out you suck at sex? Dropping $1435 worth of hardware and realisng it didn't break and today isn't they day you get manslaughtered surely deserves a chorus? What about when you can't get the last line of a haiku to sound convincing? Having your hair fall out and needing to wear hats for six months because you can't read instructions?

These are just general suggestions for inclusions and not anyway influenced by events real or imagined or dreamt about last Tuesday.

On your Playlist Of Life you don't got a track for why-procrastination-is-bad-shit-that-will-mess-Sid-up-good? Ta.

Situations totally suck arse.

Jula - which 'situation' does the Moby song relate to.

Sid - I'll get back to you with a list, but to tide you over Faith No More's 'Everything's Ruined' should do the job.

Sid, I would never do such a thing, much less in regards to a FNM song.
